meaningless prolixity

Imagine being the first person to attempt to open a coconut.

It's crazy people discovered you can eat these large green bowling ball-sized falling fruits of death.

for context: coconuts in the raw state are surrounded by a fibrous husk, then a hard shell with three weak eye holes (very like a bowling ball), then coconut meat and water in the inside.

if you are in the neolithic period there are two main ways to open a coconut, you either hit it with a heavy rock or you poke through one of the eye holes with a sharpened rock.

the first way lets you get all of the coconut flesh, though you lose a lot of the water as it runs onto the ground after The Heavy Impact.

in contrast the second way lets you get all of the water but the flesh is inaccessible.

so the caveman would have to first de-husk one coconut with no clear motivation, then probably they would try to hit it with a large rock and discover it's hollow on the inside, which would probably lead to many coconuts being only eaten for the meat

then they have to realize the water is edible and the coconut shell is weak at the eye holes, poke one hole, try to drink it, but air pressure is stopping the water from flowing out, so they would have to poke yet another hole, drink the water, then finally fully open the coconut.

this is likely a metaphor for life or something
